Please Help My 14-Year-Old Nephew, Melchor Pacabis Merquillo

On June 3, 2026, our family was devastated when my 14-year-old nephew, Melchor Pacabis Merquillo, was involved in a tragic vehicular accident that changed his life forever.

He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury that required emergency brain surgery. To save his life, doctors had to remove 25% of his brain. It was an incredibly difficult decision, but it gave him a fighting chance to survive.

The accident also left him with multiple fractures in his right thigh and right leg, as well as air trapped in his lungs, requiring immediate treatment. In addition to his brain surgery, Melchor has already undergone two more major surgeries because of the injuries he sustained.

As I write this, my nephew, Melchor Pacabis Merquillo, remains confined in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of OSPA–Farmers' Medical Center in Ormoc City, where he continues to fight for his life. Every day brings new challenges as he requires specialized medical care, medications, laboratory tests, and constant monitoring.

The financial burden on our family has become overwhelming. His hospital bill has already exceeded ₱1,000,000, and it continues to increase each day that he remains in the ICU. This amount does not yet include the doctors' professional fees, making the total cost of his treatment even higher.

We are truly grateful to the different government agencies that have extended financial assistance. Through their generosity, we have received approximately ₱150,000 in aid. While this has helped, it covers only a fraction of the mounting hospital expenses.

Today, I am humbly asking for your help for my nephew, Melchor Pacabis Merquillo. No donation is too small. Whether it's ₱50, ₱100, or any amount you can spare, your generosity will go directly toward his hospital bills and ongoing medical care.
