It has been a month since our electricity was cut off, and every day I can see how much stress and pressure my parents are carrying. The tension in our home keeps growing, and as their child, I want to help them in any way I can.

My mother has a small sari-sari store, but the income is very limited. We usually earn around 1,500 pesos, and most of it goes back into buying goods to sell again, so there is little to nothing left for our daily needs.

She also worked abroad for 10 years and only returned to the Philippines last year, hoping to finally stay here with us and build a life locally.

There are three of us siblings two in college and I am still in high school. Our father works as a tricycle driver and earns about 300 pesos a day, which is only enough for our daily food.

We are also struggling with debt. My mother has already borrowed from many places, and it may have reached around 50,000 pesos. Right now, we don’t even know where else we can ask for help.

Sleeping at night has become very difficult for us. Without a fan, the heat is overwhelming, and it’s hard to rest properly. At the same time, mosquitoes keep biting us throughout the night, making it even harder to sleep. We often wake up tired and uncomfortable, which affects our energy and focus during the day, especially for school. It may seem like a small thing, but having electricity would mean being able to sleep peacefully again.

That is why I am humbly asking for any kind of support. Any small amount can help us restore our electricity and ease the burden on my parents.

Thank you so much for your kindness and for taking the time to read our story.
