Room that waited
The Room That Waited
On a small island here in island garden of Samal, there’s a kinder classroom with big windows and bigger dreams. The walls are bright. The kids show up every day with crayons in their hands and questions that never end.
But the room is missing pieces.
No steady light when clouds roll in, so an electrician is needed to make it safe.
No small chairs that fit little legs, so 5-year-olds sit on benches made for older kids.
No tables low enough for tiny hands to draw, build, and learn together.
The teacher, tapes flashcards to the wall and says, “One day this room will have everything you need.” The kids believe her. They always do.
Every chair, every table, every safe wire means one more child gets to sit, learn, and dream without waiting.
If you’ve ever remembered what it felt like to have your own little desk in school... you know why this matters.
