A Safe Home Shaken: Help Our Family Recover After the June 8 Earthquake

Our journey to recovery began when a powerful earthquake struck our community, leaving our home and the homes of many of our neighbors with damaged walls, cracked foundations, and broken roofs. Families who worked hard for years suddenly found themselves wondering how they would rebuild and make their homes safe again.

We had hoped things would slowly return to normal, but the earthquakes have continued. Every new tremor brings back fear and uncertainty, making it difficult to feel safe even inside our own homes. The emotional toll has been just as heavy as the physical damage, especially for children, older adults, and families who have already lost so much.

As we searched for help, we realized that many of our neighbors were facing the same struggle. Some have very limited resources and no way to ask for support, which is why we chose to make this a community fundraising campaign—not only for our own family, but also to help other affected families in our neighborhood.
