For years, I believed I had overcome the darkest chapter of my life.

In 2019, I was diagnosed with Brief Psychotic Disorder. It wasn't easy, but with medication, treatment, and determination, I rebuilt my life. I worked as a graphic designer and freelancer for more than seven years, earned the trust of my clients, maintained a good bank record, and dreamed of becoming a business owner.

After years of hard work, I was finally approved for a bank loan of over ₱500,000. It was supposed to be the beginning of a new chapter. I planned to use it to start a printing business and build a stable future.

But life changed in an instant.

A traumatic relationship breakup triggered a severe relapse of my mental health condition. During that psychotic episode, I lost my ability to think clearly and make rational decisions. The money I had borrowed for my business was spent impulsively while I was unwell. By the time I regained awareness, it was too late.

I lost not only the opportunity to build my business, but also my financial security.

Soon after, I was admitted to a mental health institution, where I spent two months receiving treatment. When I was finally discharged, I came home to a life that no longer resembled the one I had worked so hard to build. I had lost my job, my savings, my plans for the future, and I was left with more than ₱500,000 in debt.

Today, I am back on my medication and committed to my recovery. I am doing everything I can to work again and rebuild my life, but starting over while carrying such overwhelming debt feels almost impossible.

I'm not asking for someone else to solve all my problems. I'm asking for a chance to rebuild what a mental health crisis took away.
