The Story of Hope for Baby and Her Brave Single Mom

At 32 years old, my colleague should be experiencing the joy and anticipation of welcoming her first child. Instead, as a single mother 7 months pregnant, she is navigating one of the most challenging battles of her life alone as the father left her the moment they confirm the pregnancy.

During a recent prenatal checkup, she received devastating news: her unborn baby boy has been diagnosed with Omphalocele a rare congenital defect where the baby’s abdominal organs develop outside the body. Because of severe pregnancy complications and her condition, she has been forced to stop working, leaving her without a steady source of income just when medical expenses are escalating rapidly.

Her previous hospital visit has informed us that immediately upon birth, the baby will require urgent surgical intervention and specialized care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). While we are actively processing government medical assistance to help cover a portion of the hospital bills, government aid alone will not be enough to cover the massive costs of the operation, NICU confinement, specialized medications, and post-surgery care.

She is fighting with everything she has to stay strong for her child, but she cannot carry this immense financial burden alone.
