Help Our Father Get The Heart Surgery He Needs

Our father recently suffered a heart attack on August 31. He was immediately brought to Gatchalian Hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU and placed under close monitoring and treatment.

After the doctors assessed his condition, we were informed that there was a blockage in his heart and that he needed to undergo an angiogram to determine the extent of the blockage and what treatment would be needed. We were hoping and praying that angioplasty would be enough to address the problem.

We eventually brought him to ACE Medical Center in Tacloban for the angiogram and possible angioplasty. However, during the procedure, the doctors discovered that three of the arteries in his heart are blocked. Because of the extent and location of the blockages, the angioplasty did not proceed. Instead, the doctors recommended Heart Bypass Surgery, or open-heart surgery.

Unfortunately, the procedure is not available at ACE Medical Center, so he now needs to be transferred to Cebu for the surgery and further treatment. As of now, we are still waiting for the doctor's referral to determine which hospital in Cebu can accommodate him.

My mother and my older sister have been doing their best to shoulder the hospital expenses, but what we can provide is only enough to cover a small part of the growing costs. I am still a student, and I also have a younger sister, which makes this situation even more difficult for our family to manage financially.

The hospital bills, medications, laboratory tests, transportation, transfer to Cebu, and upcoming heart surgery are expenses that we simply cannot carry on our own. That is why we are humbly reaching out for your help.
