Fundraising for open heart surgery: PLEASE HELP SAVE OUR BABY GIRL ELIANA KIRA

A Parents’ Cry for Help • CHD–VSD Case • For Immediate Open-Heart Surgery

With broken but hopeful hearts, we, the parents of Baby Eliana Kira Letada Aycocho, humbly reach out to the Bayanihan Philippines community to ask for your prayers, support, and kindness.

Our daughter Eliana is only 8 months and 3 weeks old, and yet she is already facing a battle no baby should ever carry. From the moment she was born, we learned she had Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) — specifically a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) or “butas sa puso.”

Nung una po, the hole in her heart measured 3–4mm, and doctors hoped it might close on its own. Pero ngayon, with deep pain, we were told that the hole has expanded to 1cm — a size that already puts her life at serious danger. Her cardiologists at the Philippine Heart Center told us that Eliana needs immediate open-heart surgery, ideally by March or April, before her condition worsens and before complications become irreversible.

As parents, nothing can ever prepare you to hear the words:

“Your baby needs open-heart surgery.”

It shattered us. But we are trying to stay strong for her.

The total cost of the operation — including surgery, hospital stay, laboratory tests, and post-medication — is around ₱800,000 to ₱1,000,000, an amount that is painfully beyond our means.

Me and my wife are both minimum wage earners in the Philippines. Kahit pagsamahin namin ang sahod namin, kahit ilang buwan pa kami mag-ipon, we will never be able to reach this amount in time. But still, we wake up every day praying and believing that God will touch generous hearts who can help us save our daughter’s life.

Despite our weaknesses and limitations, we are doing everything we can — but we cannot do this alone.

And today, with all humility,

we are knocking on your hearts.

Any help — kahit maliit na halaga, isang dasal, isang share — is a lifeline for Baby Eliana. Every act of kindness gives her a fighting chance to live, to breathe, to grow, and to experience life beyond hospital walls.
