Borrowing Time, Buying Hope: Support Jose Carlo’s Dialysis
Four years ago, our family received devastating news. My youngest brother was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)—Stage 5 chronic kidney disease—at just 23 years old.
This disease has taken an immense toll on every member of our family. It has drained us emotionally, tested us spiritually, and utterly exhausted us financially. Every single hospitalization and dialysis session feels like a mountain to climb, filled with frustration and heartbreak. Over time, the strain has even begun to affect his heart.
Yet, in the face of what others call a "hopeless" situation, my brother refuses to be broken. When I look into his eyes, I don’t see defeat; I see a spark of life and an unwavering motivation to keep moving forward. Despite the endless needles, the scars from dialysis, and the physical trauma of multiple operations, he is still fighting with everything he has to win this battle.
He has even started his own small printing business—a beautiful testament to his spirit, proving that no matter how heavy the burden, giving up is simply not an option for him. However, because his business is seasonal, the income it generates is nowhere near enough to cover his mounting medical and maintenance bills. Our family savings have officially run completely dry.
With a humble and heavy heart, I am reaching out to ask for your help. Please join us in supporting my brother so he can continue this fight, beat the odds, and keep inspiring everyone around him who is facing their own dark battles. Any assistance you can provide will help keep that spark in his eyes alive.
