I never imagined that one day, I would be begging for help just to save my mom.

For four months, I would wake up to the sound of my mom struggling to breathe. On September 15, I finally insisted that she be rushed to the emergency room. She underwent surgery to remove her gallstones, but the doctors discovered something much worse which is a huge 10-cm mass on her ovary and abnormalities throughout her abdomen.

We spent almost all our family’s life time savings on her first surgery. But when we were preparing for her discharge, her feet began to swell. Because we could no longer afford more medical expenses, we had no choice but to bring her home. Sadly, her condition worsened until even the slightest touch to her swollen legs caused unbearable pain.

We rushed her to The Medical City, where we learned that the mass was pressing against her veins and blocking proper blood circulation. Blood clots had already formed in her legs, putting her at risk of a life-threatening pulmonary embolism if a clot traveled to her lungs. The doctors told us that we had brought her in just in time because if we didn’t she actually has few days to live. She urgently needed a venous thrombectomy to remove the blood clots and restore circulation. Thankfully, the surgery on her legs was performed.

We also received the heartbreaking news that the mass was cancerous and had spread throughout her abdomen, affecting both of her ovaries. We are now preparing for her chemotherapy, hoping and praying for more time with her.

My mom is only 45 years old. She is a single mother who raised me and my sister on her own. We grew up without a father, and we witnessed how hard she worked and how much she sacrificed just to give us a better life. She has been our mother, our provider, and our source of strength. We have already grown up without a dad, and we cannot bear the thought of growing old without our mom, too.

After everything she has endured, we are now facing another battle: a hospital bill that has exceeded ₱1 million. Our family has exhausted all our savings trying to keep her alive. She is preparing for discharge, but we cannot bring her home until we settle our outstanding hospital bill.

We are humbly asking for any amount of financial assistance to help us settle her hospital expenses and bring our mom home so she can continue her fight against cancer. No amount is too small, and if you cannot donate, sharing our story would already mean so much to us.

Please help us give our mom another chance at life. We are not ready to lose her. We still need her, and we still have so much life to share with her.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every donation, prayer, and share. May God bless everyone who chooses to help our family during this heartbreaking time.
