*A Cry for Justice for Quincy*
My kitten Quincy was run over. She was still small, white and impossible to miss.
We spent a lot on her food and medicine. She wasn’t just a pet — she was family. She even watched videos with us on the phone because she loved it.
It happened around 10 PM, inside our compound, in the payag. We were having dinner because my husband just got home from work. We didn’t notice Quincy got out. Our kittens always follow their mama.
The neighbors’ drunk friends were parked there, probably going to a live band. We heard them being loud. We called for Quincy but she didn’t come. My husband looked outside and that’s where he found Quincy. She was already dead, lying on the ground.
We could have understood if it happened on the road. But this was inside our compound. And it’s obvious — there are so many cats around this area. There’s no way they didn’t see her. This was intentional.
We confronted the male neighbor because he and his partner were there. He gave us a name and told us to talk about it.
Until now, they and their barkada have ignored us. Not even ₱500 for the damage.
We will take this to the authorities.
We will also use the couple who were there as witnesses, so they will also be held accountable as possible accomplices.
Why should we be the ones begging the people who killed her? Why should we kneel to them when they killed our beloved cat who was already part of our family?
Under the Animal Welfare Act, this is animal cruelty and property damage. They are liable.
Quincy deserved better. We are demanding accountability.
We could have accepted it if it happened on the road. But this was in our payag.
There are cats all over this area. They see them every day.
To say “we didn’t see” is a lie. This was intentional.
1. *Location*: Inside compound, not a highway.
2. *Visibility*: White kitten + many cats in the area daily.
3. *Law*: Animal Welfare Act covers cruelty and property damage.
4. *Complicity*: Those present who stayed silent can be included.
Pls. Help us get justice for Quincy, our cat, I love my kitten, she is a kind cat and she is still young. Her murderers are laughing right now and living life like they did nothing wrong. They are still ignoring us and not paying for the damage they caused us.
