Help Save My Mother, Ana Maria Rodriguez

My name is Diana, and I am humbly asking for your help for my beloved mother, Ana Maria Rodriguez, who is 60 years old.

On July 14, my mother was admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with a left-sided brain meningioma. Although we were frightened by the diagnosis, we remained hopeful that surgery would give her the chance to recover.

She underwent her first brain surgery on July 16. Initially, everything seemed to go well, but only a few hours later, her condition suddenly worsened. She could no longer open her eyes and did not regain consciousness. The following day, July 17, she underwent an emergency second brain surgery after doctors discovered a blood clot in her brain. Thankfully, the clot was successfully removed.

She spent four days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a ventilator. Afterward, she gradually improved and was transferred to a regular hospital room. It was a moment of hope for our family when she began recognizing us, responding to our voices, and communicating again. Although her right arm and right leg remained very weak, we believed she was slowly recovering.

Sadly, on July 24, our hope was shaken once again. My mother suddenly could no longer open her eyes. The doctors found that she had developed a lung complication, and the swelling in her brain had increased. They explained that her brain was not receiving enough oxygen, making her condition critical once again.

Because she required specialized intensive care and our hospital expenses had already become overwhelming, her doctor recommended transferring her to another hospital for continued treatment.

To ensure she could be transferred safely, the doctors intubated her again before the transfer. She already had a nasogastric tube (NGT) for feeding, but it was accidentally removed during the intubation procedure, so the medical team had to insert a new NGT before she was transported.

On July 25 at 5:00 AM, she was transferred by ambulance and admitted directly to the ICU, where she remains in critical condition under close monitoring.

The first hospital compassionately allowed us to proceed with the transfer after we signed a promissory note because we could not afford to settle the bill immediately. On July 26, we received the final bill from the first hospital amounting to ₱979,296.67. This does not yet include the ongoing expenses at the second hospital, where she continues to receive life-saving treatment.

Since the beginning of this journey, my mother has undergone two brain surgeries, multiple CT scans, laboratory tests, X-rays, medications, ICU care, mechanical ventilation, and countless other medical procedures. Every day is a fight for her life, and every day brings additional medical expenses that our family can no longer bear alone.

Today, we are reaching out with humble hearts to ask for your help. Your donation will go directly toward paying her outstanding hospital bills, ICU care, medications, diagnostic tests, rehabilitation, and the continued treatment she urgently needs. No amount is too small—every contribution brings us one step closer to giving my mother the care she needs and the chance to recover.
