Help us rebuild our house

Hello,

I am humbly reaching out to ask for your generosity and support in helping us fund the repair and rebuilding of our family home here in Pandacan, Manila.

This house is actually an extension of the apartment where my siblings and I grew up. Our parents acquired the property in 1965, so this place holds decades of memories and is deeply meaningful to our family.

The extension also became especially important to us when our family business, Oven349 Bakeshop and Café, had to close its branch in Paco, Manila. The business operated from 2009 to 2016, but when we could no longer afford the commercial space, we decided to convert part of our home into a small production area. From there, we continued accepting orders for breads and cakes through our Facebook page.

Sadly, in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, we lost our sister who was in charge of the production and this permanently ended our family business. She was a chef and a licensed nutritionist, and her passing due to breast cancer was a devastating loss to our family. Eleven months later, we also lost our mother due to a septic infection caused by a UTI.

Those losses brought me into a very difficult period of depression and anxiety, and it took me about five years to slowly recover. During those years, the house was unfortunately neglected and deteriorated, particularly because of persistent leaks and the aging wooden materials used for the roof trusses.

I am now slowly rebuilding my life and doing my best to make ends meet while caring for my sister, who is paralyzed and under my care. At present, I accept project-based contracts involving the supply and installation of CCTV and biometric security access systems. While I am grateful for these opportunities, the income is still not steady because of the very tight competition in the industry.

That is why I am humbly knocking on the hearts of those who may have something to spare and would be willing to help us repair, rebuild, and make our home safe and secure again.

Any amount, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. When many people contribute what they can, those small acts of kindness can come together and make a tremendous difference for our family.
