Help My 91-Year-Old Father-in-Law Continue His Recovery

I'm reaching out to friends, family, and anyone who may be able to help my father-in-law, Humberto Palec, 91, who is currently hospitalized at Christ the King Medical Center in Las Piñas.

Humberto was brought to the hospital after becoming extremely weak. He had stopped eating, had difficulty moving, was breathing heavily, and became barely responsive. At one point, his heart rate dropped into the 30s, which was very concerning for our family.

The clearest diagnosis the doctors have given us so far is pneumonia, and he has been receiving treatment and medication while undergoing further tests and monitoring.

Thankfully, we've started to see something we desperately hoped for: improvement.

His heart rate has improved, and he is now responding when we talk to him. He's moving again, answering questions, and even asking for food. Those may seem like small things, but to our family, they are huge signs of hope. ❤️

However, his recovery is not over yet.

There are still many laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, medications, monitoring, and other medical expenses that need to be completed. Although he no longer appears to require ICU care at this time, he still needs continued hospitalization and treatment.

The costs are already becoming difficult for our family to manage, and we are asking for help so we can continue giving Humberto the care he needs without having to worry about whether we can afford the next test, medicine, or hospital expense.

Funds raised will help cover his:

- Hospitalization and room expenses

- Pneumonia treatment and medications

- Laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures

- Doctor and specialist fees

- Monitoring and follow-up care

- Other necessary medical expenses
