I am Pauline, 42 years of age, a single parent of three children, currently working in a corporate environment earning a minimum wage. Recently, I have encountered considerable financial difficulties due to my current health situation.

In March 2026, I discovered a lump in my left breast, which I initially dismissed, attributing it to my monthly cycle. However, by May 2026, I made the decision to seek medical attention from an internal medicine specialist, who referred me to a breast care specialist. They recommended a series of tests, including an ultrasound, mammogram, and biopsy. After undergoing various tests at the end of August, I received a diagnosis of invasive breast carcinoma stage 2B. Coming to terms with this situation has been quite challenging for me.

I have already been referred to an oncologist after testing positive for breast cancer at stage 2. However, upon examination, the oncologist determined that my condition has progressed to stage 3A.

Given my circumstances, I felt that I need to seek a second opinion from a different oncologist at another hospital; however, the results have unfortunately remained consistent. Soon I am being recommended for chemotherapy.

Navigating this situation has been quite challenging and a strain for me due to financial limitations regarding essential laboratory tests that require urgent attention. I needed and will continue to reach out to government agencies or local government units (LGUs) for assistance. I understand that this will be a difficult journey for both myself and my daughter, who was also diagnosed with lupus and psoriasis in 2022.

Nonetheless, I will continue to embrace life with enthusiasm. It is important to stay strong during difficult times and to trust in your capacity to navigate any challenges that arise. Additionally, staying in prayer provides me with comfort as I continue to seek guidance from the Lord and trust Him with my future. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
