Project Laya, a student-led community initiative bridging essential care, educational support, and creative resources to children in local shelters and orphanages across Metro Manila. Derived from the Filipino word for freedom, — was founded on a simple yet profound belief: every child deserves the freedom to dream, learn, and grow without the heavy weight of unmet basic needs.

While local residential shelters and orphanages work tirelessly to provide a safe haven, many facilities operate under severe financial constraints. With average capacities of 30 to 40 children per center, these homes frequently rely on private goodwill to cover daily necessities, leaving critical gaps in learning materials and developmental support.

Laya bridges these critical gaps in child welfare through targeted educational support, nutritional aid, and uplifting community mentorship. We aim to relieve immediate hardship for vulnerable youth, restoring their capacity to pursue education, discover their passions, and build long-term independence.
