My name is Gladys Nejudne, a grandmother who believes in the power of community. I created this campaign for my one-month old grandson, Nolan Nejudne Mazo. Since his birth on May 6, 2026, he has been hospitalized twice, once for jaundice and next for bloating and constant spit ups after feeding. During his second admission, he has a working diagnosis of Hirschsprung disease, a rare congenital condition where nerve cells (ganglion cells) are missing in the muscles of part of the large intestine (colon). Because these nerves control the rhythmic contractions that push stool out, the affected segment remains constantly contracted, causing a severe intestinal blockage. Hirschsprung disease in newborns requires surgery to remove the section of the bowel that lacks nerve cells. Treatment is often two-staged: an initial procedure to create a temporary ostomy/stoma to allow the colon to heal, followed by a "pull-through" surgery to connect healthy bowel to the anus.

Because of the blockage, Baby Nolan is always bloated and needs to have a tube to decongest his tummy. This hinders his feeding (he is purely breastfed).

Nikka, my daughter and Nolan’s mother, lives in Dumaguete City with her family. However, there is no pediatric surgeon in Dumaguete. Hence, Baby Nolan needs to be brought to Cebu City for the confirmatory biopsy and needed procedure thereafter. In fact, from Dumaguete, he will need to be directly endorsed to another hospital in Cebu and will be transported through an ambulance. That has to happen this week because he cannot feed properly with his current condition.

So, I created this campaign. We got this ballpark figure from an online support group of mothers in similar situation. It is our prayer that God will move through the hearts of His people – friends, family and strangers – to help us get Baby Nolan the medical intervention he needs.
