My name is Erickson Ortal, and I am raising funds for my beloved mother, Luzviminda Ortal, who is bravely fighting Stage 4 breast cancer since November of 2024. She has endured so much already — the pain, the fear, the endless hospital visits — yet she continues to hold on with quiet strength and a smile that still lights up our home.

Now in July 2026, her doctors have prescribed a new medication that could help her keep fighting. It is an oral pill taken once a day for 21 consecutive days then rest for the remaining 7 days of each month. It costs ₱52,000 every single month. This amount is far beyond what our family can afford.

This new medication expense comes on top of our regular monthly basic needs and her other medical expenses like her doctors’ consultation fees, maintenance medications and other hospital treatments and procedures. The financial burden has become extremely heavy, and we are struggling to keep up with everything needed for her care.

We have been actively seeking help from government agencies and reaching out to relatives, but the assistance we have received so far is limited and simply not enough to cover the continuous cost of this essential medication.

I am terrified of the day we can no longer afford this medicine. I cannot bear the thought of my mother having to stop a treatment that gives her a chance — a chance to stay with us a little longer, to keep being the mom who has given us everything.
