Support Mama Luz’s Life-Saving Cancer Medication One Month At A Time

My name is Erickson Ortal, and I’m reaching out to ask for your support for my wonderful mom, Luzviminda Ortal, 67. Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in January 2025.

She’s been incredibly strong through chemo and hormonal therapy over the past 18 months and recently in July 2026, her doctors have prescribed a new medication that could help her keep fighting. This new medication, Palbociclib, cost approximately P52000 per month. It is an oral pill taken once a day for 21 days and rest for remaining 7 days each month.

This new expense comes on top of our monthly living expenses, her other medical expenses like doctors’ consultation fees, existing maintenance medications and other hospital treatments/procedures. The financial burden has become extremely heavy, and these expenses are becoming unsustainable for our family.

Friends and relatives have reached out to us and provided help in one form or another and we are very grateful for everything that we have received so far. We have also been actively seeking financial/medical assistance from various government agencies but these assistance are limited and simply not enough to cover the continuous cost of this essential medication.

Mom has always been the heart of our family — the one who puts everyone else first before herself. She’s taught us resilience and kindness, and now it’s our turn to fight for her.

We need help to cover her medications for the coming months so she can focus on healing, spending time with family, and living her life with dignity and hope. Every dollar goes directly toward this new medication.
