My sister Kharyl is one of the most giving people I know.

A devoted single mother to two beautiful daughters, she has always been the heart of our family, the one who shows up with a warm smile, a steady hand, and a kind word for everyone around her. She has faced every challenge life has thrown at her with grace, strength, and an unwavering love for her girls that inspires us all. Asking for help has never been in her nature. That is just not who she is.

Right now, Kharyl is on a new kind of journey.

Her Story

Since early 2025, my sister has been bravely battling Stage 3B cervical cancer, and she has been fighting it every single day since. As part of her care, she recently underwent a nephrostomy procedure to support her kidney health while she continues treatment. The physical and emotional toll has been immense. There are days when her body simply does not allow her to move, yet her spirit remains unbroken. Through it all, her daughters remain firmly in her heart, they are her whole world, and they are what keep her going every single day.

What She Has Already Done

Kharyl is not one to sit and wait for help. True to who she is, she has already done everything within her power to manage on her own, selling her belongings to cover her medical expenses and daily needs. She has given up so much without complaint, quietly doing what needs to be done. But the costs of ongoing treatment, hospitalization, and medications have grown beyond what any one person can handle alone, especially on the days when she is physically unable to do anything at all.

As a family, we are doing everything we can to be by her side, but the financial reality of her care is significant. Medical bills, hospitalization, medications, and ongoing treatment costs are accumulating quickly. No one should have to carry that weight alone, especially someone who has spent her entire life lifting others up.
