A Mother's Fight for Life: Help Us Continue Her Medical Treatment

A Plea for Help, Hope, and a Second Chance at Life

There are moments in life when we find ourselves facing circumstances we never imagined we would have to endure. Moments when we are forced to confront the fragility of life, the uncertainty of tomorrow, and the painful realization that, despite everything we do, there are battles we cannot fight alone.

Today, I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help in saving my mother's life.

My mother is currently confined in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Marikina Valley Medical Center, where she continues to fight for her life. Her medical condition is extremely critical, and her treatment has been complicated by several serious health conditions that require continuous medical attention, intensive care, and substantial financial resources.

Her journey has been particularly difficult.

She has a tumor causing an obstruction in her duodenum, the first part of the small intestine, which prevents her from taking food orally. Because of this, she is currently receiving her nutritional requirements through Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), a specialized form of intravenous feeding that provides nourishment directly into her bloodstream.

As if this were not enough, she has also been on mechanical ventilation since October 5, following a seizure that required respiratory support. She remains dependent on the ventilator while receiving intensive medical care.

Her doctors have also identified sepsis and critically low platelet levels, making her condition even more complicated. Surgery, which may be necessary to address the obstruction caused by the tumor, has had to be postponed because her body is not yet in a condition to safely undergo the procedure. Her medical team must first address these complications and stabilize her condition before surgery can be considered.

At this point, every day is a fight. Every medical intervention, every medication, every laboratory test, and every hour of intensive care is essential to keeping her alive and giving her a chance to recover.

The Financial Burden We Can No Longer Carry Alone

As of today, our hospital bill has already reached approximately PHP 1.1 million, and this amount continues to increase each day she remains in the ICU.

The expenses are ongoing and include intensive care, ventilator support, medications, antibiotics, laboratory examinations, medical procedures, nutritional support, and other hospital-related charges necessary for her continued treatment.

My family and I have done everything within our means to sustain her hospitalization. We have exhausted our personal savings and financial resources. I have even sold properties and personal belongings, letting go of things we worked hard for, simply to make sure that my mother continues receiving the medical attention she needs.

We have made every possible sacrifice because we are not ready to give up on her.

But the truth is, we have reached a point where there is very little left for us to draw from. Despite everything we have sold and sacrificed, her medical expenses continue to accumulate, and we can no longer sustain the cost of her treatment on our own.

This is perhaps one of the most difficult things I have ever had to admit: We need help.

Why We Are Asking for Your Help

We are humbly reaching out to family, friends, kind-hearted individuals, and anyone who may be willing to extend a helping hand.

The funds raised will go directly toward my mother's ongoing hospitalization and medical treatment, including:

ICU confinement and continued intensive medical care.

Mechanical ventilator support and respiratory management.

Medications, antibiotics, and treatment for sepsis.

Laboratory tests, blood-related requirements, and management of her low platelet count.

Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and other nutritional support.

Medical procedures and preparations for the surgery that may be undertaken once her condition is stable.

Other necessary hospital expenses and outstanding medical bills.

Our immediate goal is to help settle her growing hospital balance and ensure that her medical treatment can continue without the added burden of unpaid expenses.

A Mother's Life Is Worth Fighting For

I know that times are difficult for everyone. Many people have their own responsibilities, families, and financial struggles. I would never want anyone to feel obligated to give beyond what they can afford.

But if there is anything you can spare, no matter how small, it would mean more to us than words could ever express.

If you are unable to provide financial assistance, sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, and social networks would also be an enormous help. Every share gives us another opportunity to reach someone who may be willing and able to help.

We are holding on to hope. We are praying that her condition will stabilize, that she will become strong enough to undergo the necessary surgery, and that she will eventually have the opportunity to recover and come home.

I am not ready to lose my mother. We are not ready to say goodbye.

I have done everything I possibly could to keep her treatment going, and I will continue to do so for as long as there is hope. But right now, I need the kindness and generosity of others to help us get through this.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read our story, for keeping my mother in your prayers, and for considering helping us in any way you can.

Your generosity, compassion, and support could make a life-changing difference for my mother.

May God bless you and your families abundantly.
