HELP ME SAVE MY FAMILY AND FIX MY IMMIGRATION STATUS
My name is Nafhaz M Nawsath and I am a Sri Lankan living in the Philippines with my Filipino wife and our 2 children.
I came to the Philippines in November 2023 because of a family emergency. At that time, I had money prepared to renew my visa and handle my documents properly.
But during that time, our neighbor asked me for financial help for a hospital emergency. They promised to return the money before December 2023, so I gave all the money I had because I wanted to help them during their difficult situation.
Unfortunately, the money was never returned.
I waited for many months, hoping they would repay me, but until today I have not received it back. Because of this, I could no longer renew my visa and my overstay penalties kept increasing.
I even went to the Barangay Hall in Tanke, Talisay Cebu to seek help, but my family and I continued struggling every day just to survive. There were times we could barely afford food and basic needs.
I also contacted my embassy for assistance, but I was asked for a very large amount of money for paperwork processing, which I could not afford. I then contacted several agencies for help with my immigration problem, but some asked for around ₱250,000, which is impossible for me.
Now I am almost 3 years overstayed in the Philippines.
My only wish is to legally clear my immigration penalties, return to Sri Lanka, work again, and build a better future for my wife and children.
I am not asking for luxury. I am only asking for a second chance for my family.
Any small help, donation, or even sharing my story would mean everything to us.

I already submitted official documents and applications to the Philippine Bureau of Immigration to legally resolve my overstay situation.
I filed visa extension and authorized stay request forms explaining my financial hardship, family emergency, unpaid borrowed money issue, and my responsibility to support my Filipino wife and children.
These documents were prepared as part of my legal effort to regularize my status honestly and peacefully. I never intended to violate the law or hide from immigration. I only became trapped in a difficult financial situation while trying to help my family survive.

I already started the legal process to resolve my immigration problem properly. I filed a notarized request with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration explaining my situation, financial hardship, and my intention to regularize my stay legally.
This document was prepared and notarized with legal assistance to show that I am cooperating with the law and trying to solve everything peacefully and honestly for the sake of my wife and 2 children.
Lawyer affidavit

To solve my immigration problem legally, my family and I also sought legal help. We consulted a lawyer and prepared an affidavit explaining my situation and the reasons why I was unable to renew my visa on time.
We are trying our best to follow the proper legal process and clear my overstay penalties honestly and peacefully. Unfortunately, because of financial hardship and growing penalties over the years, we are still struggling to complete everything.
Despite all these challenges, I have never wanted to escape responsibility. My only goal is to fix my immigration status legally, support my wife and 2 children, and return to Sri Lanka so I can work again and build a better future for my family.
Barangy paper

I also filed a complaint at the Barangay Hall in Tanke, Talisay Cebu regarding the money that was promised to be returned to me.
The barangay tried to help settle the issue, and there was an agreement that they would pay me little by little every day. However, until now, I still have not fully received my money back.
Because I depended on that money for my visa renewal and immigration requirements, my situation became worse over time. The penalties continued increasing, and my family fell deeper into financial hardship.
I did everything I could legally and peacefully to recover the money, but unfortunately it was not enough to stop my overstay problem.
