I owe it to my dad

I owe my life to my father in more ways than one. He is the reason I am here, the man who carried our family through years of sacrifice, hardship, and quiet courage. As his son, I grew up watching him put everyone else before himself. He worked, endured, and gave all that he could so that I could have a future better than his own. Everything I am today is rooted in the love, discipline, and strength he gave me. Because of him, I learned what it means to stand back up when life becomes difficult.

Now, the roles have painfully changed. Since December 2025, my father has been in and out of the Philippine Heart Center, fighting for his life. What began as a frightening diagnosis has become a long and exhausting battle. He has been diagnosed with heart failure, and doctors have told us that he needs a heart bypass surgery to survive. Every hospital admission brings another wave of fear, another test, another procedure, and another bill. Our family has been doing everything we can, but the medical expenses have been piling up faster than we can manage.

We held on for as long as we could through every possible source of help. For a time, government support through LOAs helped lessen the burden, and we were deeply grateful for that assistance. But because of current limitations and constraints, those supports are no longer available to us. That reality has left our family carrying an overwhelming financial weight at the exact moment when my father needs urgent care the most. It is heartbreaking to know that the man who spent his life protecting us is now depending on others just to have a chance to keep living.

As his son, I cannot turn away. I want to give back to the man who gave me everything. I want to fight for him the way he fought for me all my life. This is not only about hospital bills or surgery costs—it is about love, gratitude, and the chance to keep my father with us. He has already saved my life by shaping it with his sacrifices. Now, I am asking for the opportunity to help save his. Any support, kindness, or prayer would mean more to our family than words can fully express.
