Rebuilding a Basketball Court for Youth — For God’s Glory

🏀 PROJECT STORY

In a quiet part of our community in Purok 7, Sampaguita Village, Barangay Batobalani, Paracale, Camarines Norte, there is a simple basketball court that once served as a place of joy, friendship, and dreams for the youth.

This is where they learned teamwork.

This is where they spent their time productively.

And this is where they stayed away from negative influences.

But over time, the court has slowly deteriorated.

The floor is now cracked, uneven, and unsafe, making it dangerous for the children who still continue to play there.

With a desire to help, the Purok officers reached out to the Barangay Council of Batobalani.

They were then referred to the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), who at that time was scheduled to replace the basketball board and ring at the main plaza.

Through this, the existing boards and rings—still in good condition—were generously given to Purok 7 Sampaguita Village.

It was a simple act, but a meaningful one.

A reminder that kindness and community spirit are still alive.

However, the work is not yet complete.

While we now have basketball boards and rings, the court itself remains damaged and in need of rehabilitation, especially the flooring which needs repair to make it safe and usable again.

With the upcoming summer season and the Purok fiesta, the community decided to launch this online call for support to continue the project.

As one of the administrators of our community Facebook group, “I Love Batobalani,” I am helping raise awareness so that we can reach kind-hearted individuals who may be willing to support this cause.

This initiative is not for a single person or group.

It is for the youth who dream, and for a community that hopes to provide them with a safer and better place to grow.

We believe that even the smallest help—whether it is a bag of cement, construction materials, a small donation, or even a prayer—can create a big impact when combined.

In the end, this project is not for recognition.

It is for a higher purpose.

In every act of kindness, and in every progress we make,

all the glory and honor belong to God alone.
